Just right off Jalan Damansara, up a little hill, stands this majestic colonial mansion called The Estate on Federal Hill. Built in the early 1900s, this beautiful 30,000 sq. ft. building used to be a residence owned by a French company called Socfin Group – or Société Financière des Caoutchoucs – a development and management company of oil palm and rubber plantations before the era of WWI. It is strategically located at just 10 minutes away from Bangsar and KLCC, and likely a stone throw away from the National Museum.

From the classic circular driveway, you can imagine as your honorable guests arrive in fleets of luxury cars – lining up the brick asphalt drive and entering the double-door entrance that opens to a charming high ceiling chandelier foyer that is decorated with two stairways on either sides of the door. You can imagine the ballroom dancing that has happened on that very marble floor back in the day, and you can feel the history in the air surrounding the walls.

The original touches are kept but all the rooms have been converted into a rentable space for events that can house 20 to 300 individuals, and another 6,000 square feet area located at the right wing of The White House has been earmarked for F&B retail.

The charm doesn’t stop there. As you walk across the halls towards the back area, there is a 9,000 square feet garden with the view of Menara KL and the rest of the city of Kuala Lumpur, surrounded by a eight acres of tropical plantation.

The unobstructed view of the KL skyline within the hilltop backyard garden managed to inspire Airhost, the property management company, to turn the eight-acre estate into a contemporary event space in 2021.

One of the other highlights of this space is the second-floor skydeck overlooking the garden, giving you a bird’s view of the entire space. It was kept simple with just a bar with high stools, but you can have an undisrupted view of the city from the balcony itself.

To give you visuals of how the space would look like after it’s conversion into a huge budget event, Mercedes Benz Malaysia has recently chosen this space alongside the Edge Media Group due to its breathtaking view. The purpose of this is to unveil the new Mercedes-Maybach S Class and GLS models. Inspired by the movie Crazy Rich Asians, the visual is completed with the Maybach emblem settling on the archway and two luxury cars distinctly placed within the area of the garden platforms.
